Good video. I didn't have much luck with the Habor Freight calipers. Wondering if you have a good 6-inch height gauge to put on you surface plate? Bought a dial type gauge and it's pretty rough to use accurately.
3D printing is perfect for prototyping these parts.
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Yeshua ישוע (Jesus) and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the YHVH יהוה (LORD) shall be saved.” Romans 10:1-13
Just found your channel and subscribed. Very nice work
Thanks for made this video👍
Your Website does not work
Hi there seems to be some saying that inhaling the mist could be an issue for your lungs. Any thoughts I’m a 74-year-old newbie.
Just when you think you'll never use the Quill........you need the quill...........like making a hole for a bearing for instance............lolol...........Z
Nice fast and easy 😊👍
I'd love to see a video of you changing the speed of the spindle here.....since it isn't variable speed. Do you have to switch the belt around and how big of a pain is it?
Helpful to see whats possible from scraps. Thankyou!
Where to get ballscrews and bearing now? "linear motion bearing" eBay store doesn't seem to exists. Thanks.
I followed your link for the pulse cards and what they are selling now do NOT have a socketed IC on them but it's obvious from you video the ones you purchased a few years back do have a socketed IC. I'm assuming the IC is for de-bouncing the waveform.
Hi, I'm based in Bulgaria and really need some help with the 7.5kw hy vfd. Would you be able to do a quick video chat with me and just talk me through some of the parameters that I aught to be setting. I'm really capable of most tasks but I've just bought a beautiful old spindle moulder from Germany and I really don't want to fry the motor. I. Exchange I'll send you a gift from my workshop in south east Bulgaria 😊, regards Darrell Nicol
👍👍😎👍👍
👍👍😎👍👍
what is the blue fluid ?
Actually, the Parameter #13 is pretty important. As You stated, it will revert the parameters to factory values when set to 8. I think this should be done before any other parameters are programmed. This way You know the state of the VFD. I have programmed a few of these and I have stumbled twice in a situation when the parameters were totally haywire. I think this is because the units are tested in the factory and sometimes the test leaves the unit in some strange setup. Factory reset will cure this. Good and informative video.
Good
Worst machine working this type machine 🤮
what is 15 in/s to metric ? acceleration and 3 in/s to velocity. i not understand imperial system newer. because 97% world uses metric system, only 3-4 country all earth use old cavemen imperial system today.
my problem have cheap 5 axis mach3 board input have only 5 pin, and i need E-stop, home XYZ, probe, thats have all what can use, but how connect to all limits SW too this board. need one pin more, my machine have hard limit SW ewery axis both side, all has wired paraller can use one pin stop machine if go out of limit. this is important safety not broken machine, but no pin input, i has make soft limit to config wisard, home 0.0 travell -20 to 390. but why this show max have 390 in display and rail have 1000 mm long and machine move full rail. scale have 317, screw pitch M12 1,26mm motor 200/rev. normal motor, driver setting 400 pulse(minimum) DM556 driver.i not understand what have wrong ? scale ??? two problem, limit SW and move scale. hardware dimnsions X rail max 800mm, Y rail 1000mm, Z rail 250mm Xand Y screw M12 pitch have 1,26mm. Z T8 pitch 4mm.
any chance you would help w programing feature on a hy 600 vfd?
Russ, we just received a brand new SG-618 and I think the cable was installed incorrectly from the factory. I went to turn the traverse handwheel and nothing happened, so I looked under the table and the cable was off the pulley. I found that the stock cable is (keep in mind its all metric) 4mm OD, which is near your 5/32" OD and appears to be a 3mm cable with a flexible coating and when I got it re-wrapped up correctly with 7 wraps on the hand wheel pulley, it all seemed to work correctly. I even custom CNC Plasma cut a lock ring spanner for the 40mm diameter lockring.
❤❤❤❤
Hit thumbs down by mistake, nice video, thanks
Hello goo day. I think your Lathe is same as Mine Grizzli G4300G.. just want to ask do you have any idea or link where to buy Toolpost Holder with 25mm x 25mm inside to hold at 25mm toolbit. Thanks.
Before you tear the head apart, spray a bunch of belt conditioner onto the belt. Chances are that's where the noise is coming from.Nice purchase! You'll get a ton of use out of it.
It looks like OP's web site is gone, but for anyone looking for it, I found that the Wayback Machine has it archived. The PDF version of the worksheet he mentioned was not saved, but the the Excel version was. I was gifted a RELM RH256NB and it programs almost identically as the radio in this video.
Its a shame the hoss DVD is no longer available. Looks like his site is pretty much defunct.
Thanks for posting your video. It was helpful in fixing my problem. I spun my quill off my leadscrew for the third time drilling a hole and buggered up the threads again, but now so it wouldn't thread. I can't understand why there isn't a stop to prevent this from happening. Even my ShopSmith is designed to prevent the quill from accidentally falling out or spinning uncontrollably. Maybe I'm doing it wrong!!! 🤪 Got any ideas to make a stop on the quill or leadscrew for the G0602 so it won't let the quill unscrew all the way and spin in the tailstock while I'm trying to drill a hole in my project?? Having the knob and handle spin like that can be a knuckle buster!!!
So glad you made this. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive way to machine acrylic to have better clarity and this should do the trick
rotation can be a problem with this setup. A pin is needed and some screws to fine adjust the QC post square.
Question , I have the 120VAC input drive. I've seen videos where it is hooked up to a single phas with a single phase AC motor as the load. They don't mention how thw AC in is wired. I'm trying to figure out where to wire the Neutral wire to. The Line input ( black ) will go to 'R', does the neutral go to 'S' or to the ground terminal on the unit. Thanks
I just ordered one of these, and I think the first thing I'll do is take it apart and clean it very carefully.
Nice, what servos you have in mind? I have some nema 23 iSV57T-180s on my cnc router and I really like them, but I don't know what torque requirements you'd need for a lathe that size. I just picked on of those Chinese lathes up and I'm in the planning stages.
this is awesome...so this is essentially conversation cnc for linux cnc....woot..thank you for posting...love yer vids
nice music, reminds me of the 80s
I have a 5amp dc amp metre and I am using it for my O/Gauge Model Trains Rolling Road Test Track my power source is a Hammant &Morgan Clipper Controller how do i wire up the amp metre so that it operates I also have wired up a 20 volts voltage gauge and it operates thanks for your advice,Kevin.A.
I bet someone tried adjusting the spindle speed while it wasn't running. We had a new machinist do just that to our Bridgeport and it sounded very similar to what you have. Should just have a humming sound to it. Hope that helps
That's interesting, thanks for the info. I played with it a little bit more today and it does seem to sound better at higher RPM. I need to get a vice mounted on it so I can do some cutting and see how it behaves.
My understanding is that flaking is the final step of scrapping. It is designed to prevent the two scrapped surfaces from sticking together and to retain oil for lubrication. The Bridgeport should be both scrapped flat and flaked with a chrome finish. I would be surprised if they had done any refurbishing and scrapped that surface again. I bet that's the original chrome coating. I have done one scrapping project and it's not fun by hand. If you do go that route make sure to use carbide which means buying a bunch of other tools to support that. Nice find. I look forward to seeing more videos on it.
$750 is close to the scrap metal value! Nice find! Congratulations! I'm looking forward to seeing your progress with this Bridgeport mill. I'd put LinuxCNC on it but keep the ability to operate it manually with power off to the motors, keeping the linear encoders powered for a LinuxCNC digital readout.
Thanks! I'm not sure if I'm going to convert this to CNC.... but it's super tempting.
They were chromed and flaked from factory, that’s original. Honestly, that things not too bad at all. Those ways look good, and that noise is common. Check out h&w machinery repair videos on rebuilding the varispeed head. They have the entire process on video and sell all the parts. Call em and have them listen to machine on speaker, they’ll tell you exactly what you need. Good score man, you actually made out REALLY well. I have the same mill, was in similar condition when I got it, I payed 2500. Some spit and elbow grease and that thing will purrrrrr.
Excellent, thanks for the info! I've already reached out to H&W with the noise and they are say the bushings back there are bad. I found their video on the rebuild process, and the parts kit is only around $30 so we'll definitely be going that route.

Nice buy….seagull award🏆
Thanks Chuck!
